How to Choose the Perfect Bed for Your Dog's Size and Age

Why Dog Bed Size Matters

A bed that is too small forces your dog to curl up tight, which can put pressure on their joints. A bed that is too large doesn't provide the secure, cozy feeling that dogs naturally crave. To find the perfect size, measure your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail when they are sleeping, and add 6 to 12 inches.

Age and Orthopedic Support

Puppies and young dogs are highly active and need soft, comfortable beds to rest after active play. Senior dogs, however, require orthopedic foam support. Our Arlo bolster beds are made with high-density pressure-relieving foam that doesn't flatten over time, helping to relieve arthritis and hip dysplasia symptoms in older dogs.

Plaid vs Bolster Designs

If your dog loves to stretch out completely, select a flat plaid cushion bed. If they like to rest their chin or lean against a support, go for a bolster dog bed with raised edges. All of our cushion covers are removable and machine-washable for easy cleaning.
